Macrina Bakery & Cafe

Started with a French Bongard oven as its centerpiece, an antique display case, and six employees, the bakery soon took over the adjoining retail space in 1994 to create its café. The baking lineup grew around naturally leavened sourdoughs and American staples like the Rustic Potato loaf, eventually expanding past an early spread of muffins, coffee cakes, and tarts into a broad selection of breads, pastries, cakes, and savory items.
