Description

The garden originated in 1982, born from a community effort to clear the area of drugs and crime and protect low-income housing and services. Spanning almost a city block in Sara Roosevelt Park, the space now serves as a quiet refuge from the surrounding urban noise, where winding pathways lead past a sandbox, seating areas, and a resident turtle pond.
