Lyle (John) Park
3.6 (7)park
An Auburn Gresham green space set along an old rail embankment, offering a relaxed neighborhood playground with swings.
Description

The park traces back to 1917, when the Chicago & Western Indiana Railroad began elevating tracks to eliminate dangerous street-level crossings. In 1920, Alderman John H. Lyle asked City Council to establish parkland along the rail line's western embankment between 76th and 79th Streets. Totaling 1.84 acres, the grounds have been leased from CDOT since 1959, giving local families an unassuming spot to spend part of the day outdoors.
