The café traces back to 1985, when Ross Underwood and Pam McAlwee opened an unassuming wine, beer, and cheese shop in a tiny storefront in Arlington’s Westover neighborhood. That modest venture gradually grew into a Northern Virginia destination, anchored by its continued backing of the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation to help homeless animals find forever homes.
