Los Encinos State Historic Park
4.7 (274)park
A peaceful historic rancho preserving 19th-century adobe buildings, citrus trees, and a duck-filled spring pond.
Description

Once the site of the historic village of Siutcanga, the grounds chart Rancho Los Encinos through centuries of cultural shifts. The property preserves a two-story stone masonry Garnier building alongside a historic blacksmith shop, with exhibits documenting agricultural operations run by Mission Indians, Mexican Californios, and French and French Basque families. While the surrounding pathways and cactus plantings are open to explore, stepping inside the historic structures often requires catching limited open hours or arranging a ranger-led tour.
