Longboarding Meets Gentle Waves At This 1960s Surf Park

Paddle out beside soft sand and rocky tide pools on the coast just north of Pacific Beach.

Take your board to the coast.

🏄 Built Around Longboards

Established in the 1960s, Tourmaline Surfing Park sits on the California coast just north of Pacific Beach. It is one of the first dedicated surf parks in the state, giving this stretch of shoreline a place in surfing history. For longboarders, the draw is gentle, peeling waves for mellow riders, with beginners part of the beach community too.

Back on shore, soft sand and rocky tide pools give you a different stretch of coast to take in between sessions on the water. There are restrooms and outdoor showers, along with a lifeguard station. That combination keeps the beach outing focused on a board, the ocean, and time spent along the shoreline.

Head to 600 Tourmaline St in San Diego. The park opens daily at 4 AM and closes at 2 AM the following morning, leaving room to fit a session around the rest of your day.
