Founded by childhood friends and Bay Area natives Neal DeNardi and Andrew Markoulis, the shop takes its name from the late-1800s wooden causeway that once connected downtown San Francisco to Dogpatch. The kitchen draws on influences from classic East Coast, Italian, and San Francisco styles, alongside an offering of sandwiches available all day on Wednesdays.
