A Humboldt Park Cocktail Lounge With Live Music
A Humboldt Park cocktail lounge from 1937, with nightly live music, red leather booths, and a back room for dancing.
🎶 A Tavern With A Soundtrack
The California Clipper wraps a Humboldt Park night in red leather booths and vintage red light fixtures. Established in 1937 inside a building dating to 1912, the neighborhood cocktail lounge carries a classic Chicago tavern feel. Settle into that glow for an evening built around drinks and sound.
Live music runs nearly every night, with jazz, country, and DJ sets in the mix, and Tannoy speakers match those once used at Abbey Road. The back annex, Lil Clip, turns toward dancing on Friday and Saturday nights, with programming focused on emerging independent acts.
Entry is 21 and over. Happy hour runs from 6 to 8 PM across most of the week, with a small cover when live music plays at 1002 North California Avenue.
