After work, leave a little room before dinner for Seattle Glassblowing Studio in Belltown. The hot shop at 2227 5th Avenue offers live glassblowing every day, with hands on sessions that take you from watching to making. Entry is free, while individual artwork packages are paid experiences, a distinction to keep in mind when choosing how to spend the afternoon.
The gallery brings together work by over 80 artists. Its contemporary glass collection includes alumni of the Netflix competition Blown Away, giving the browsing its own draw alongside the working studio. Cliff Goodman opened the studio at its original Belltown address in 1991.
Plan an early finish at the office, as the studio is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM. Monthly visiting artist events take place during the Belltown Artwalk. Individual artwork packages range from 85 to 160 dollars per person, before gratuity and taxes.
