Little Red Rock
4.3 (58)attraction
An ancestral Southern Paiute site of ancient petroglyphs, set amid scenic red rocks and protected for preservation.
Description

Created by ancestors of the Nuwu (Southern Paiutes), the cultural area contains ancient pictographs alongside petroglyphs on private land. Following years of vandalism, looting, and unauthorized use as a party site, landowner Howard Hughes Corporation partnered with the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe, Nevadans for Cultural Preservation, professional archaeologists, and law enforcement to restore and protect the grounds. The area is currently closed to the public, with trespassing strictly enforced. Visual access will eventually be provided by a planned trail with interpretive panels routed around the scenic red rocks.
