Little Havana's Half-Mile Adds Up to a Full Cuban Dinner
A guide walks you between Calle Ocho kitchens, a cigar bench and Domino Park, feeding you the whole way.
Calle Ocho runs through Little Havana as a working street. The bakeries start their guava pastries before dawn, the cigar benches fill by mid-morning, and the domino tables keep going until the light drops.
This walk moves along that stretch at eating pace. It covers less than half a mile and has rest stops built into the route. Two and a half hours, one guide, and a fixed order of kitchens and landmarks.

Departures meet at the Tower Theatre at 1508 SW 8th Street and finish a few blocks away. Your guide calls or texts one to two hours ahead to confirm dietary restrictions and to help if you are running late. Booking closes 60 minutes before the start time, and confirmation comes through immediately.
Little Havana Food and Walking Tour in MiamiTastings at multiple stops on Calle Ocho, plus a cigar factory, Domino Park and the Cuban Memorial. All drinks included, 150 minutes.www.viator.comWhat Lands in Your Hands

The tastings come in small servings and land at several stops within a few blocks. Savory fried snacks, a pressed sandwich, guava pastries out of an oven that starts at 4:00 AM.
Every drink on the route is covered, from café cubano to cane juice pressed while you watch to a rum mojito. The operator's one instruction is to arrive hungry.
Cigars, Dominoes and the Block Itself

Between tastings the route turns to what the neighborhood does with its afternoons. At the cigar factory a roller shapes a cubano at the bench while the guide covers how they are made and what they mean here. Domino Park is a scheduled stop, and the players at those tables are the regulars who hold court there daily.
Ball & Chain, Cubaocho and Callejón del Gallo sit along the same stretch. The Cuban Memorial and its eternal torch for Brigade 2506 anchor the historical end of the walk.
Who the Walk Fits
The route is flat, short and paced with rest stops. All areas and surfaces on it are wheelchair accessible, prams are welcome, and service animals can come along. Children from seven book a child ticket. Anyone fourteen or over counts as an adult.
Food restrictions need a heads-up on that pre-tour call:
- Vegetarian, no beef, no pork and gluten-free can all be handled
- Vegan substitutions are limited
- Severe allergies and celiac disease sit outside what these kitchens can handle, given the cross-contamination risk. You can still walk with the group and take a partial refund
Arriving, Parking and Tipping
Free parking sits behind Domino Park at SW 8th Street and 15th Avenue, with metered spaces along SW 8th Street and the residential blocks nearby. From November through May that lot fills early, and a rideshare is the surer arrival. Public transport runs close to the meeting point.
Gratuity for the guide sits outside the ticket price. The operator puts the customary range at 18 to 20 percent.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking does not refund and does not move to another day. The walk runs rain or shine.
It ends a few blocks from where it started, in the middle of Calle Ocho, with the afternoon still going and the domino tables still full.
