Description

The campus serves as the main hub for the New York Film Festival alongside a popular free summer program. Conceived in the late 1950s to provide dedicated hall and backstage space for major performing arts organizations—welcoming key institutions starting in 1962—the complex balances large-scale productions with focused venue design. Auditoriums offer comfortable seating with unobstructed views, though visitors frequently note that restroom queues can get long during intermissions.
