Lillis Albina Park
4.1 (150)park
A neighborhood park pairing sports fields and Fremont Bridge views with a thriving native pollinator patch.
Description

Bordering Harriet Tubman Middle School, this 3.93-acre space pairs neighborhood recreation with thoughtful ecology. Its nature patch, established between 2018 and 2023, is planted with Pacific Coast Hybrid Irises, Seaside Daisy, and Manzanita alongside Mahonia and Thimbleberry. In addition to a playground, ball field, and court, the grounds host community gatherings like Good in the Hood, though shade is concentrated along the perimeter while the open center stays exposed. The name stems from a 1947 compromise honoring both the historic City of Albina and local youth advocate Mike Lillis.
