Les Amants Terribles - Cocteau & Marais

Carole Giacobbi and Stéphane Vauthier explore the dynamics of a partnership divided by the conflicting pressures of wartime. As Cocteau navigates the complexities of influence and power, Marais finds himself pulled toward the Resistance. This production portrays their relationship through cycles of admiration, jealousy, and creation, set against the backdrop of an occupied city. The narrative draws in mythical figures from their circle, including Édith Piaf, Coco Chanel, and Mila Parély, to illustrate how their private conflicts intersected with one of the most volatile eras in French history.
