Description

Serving as a natural corridor between Utah and Arizona, this site figured prominently in the exploration and settlement of northern Arizona. Here at the start of the Grand Canyon, river runners launch boats for trips down the canyon, while kayakers can paddle with or without an upstream backhaul. Fishermen enjoy trout fishing extending upstream to Glen Canyon Dam, and backpackers finish multi-day hikes through the Paria Canyon Wilderness Area while hikers explore surrounding canyons and desert ridges.
