New Orleans Dead of Night Ghosts and Cemetery Bus TourTwo hours by air-conditioned bus from 740 N Rampart St, with stops at Bayou St. John, a beignet break and a cemetery. Departs 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM.www.viator.comThe Bayou Bridge and a Beignet Break

The listing gives about fifteen minutes to the Magnolia Bridge over Bayou St. John. The story told about this water is that Marie Laveau held voodoo rituals along it in the 19th century, and the listing marks that history as reputed. The St. John's Eve part is on record: in June 2023, New Orleans Magazine pointed readers to the Magnolia Bridge, across from Cabrini High School, for a Voodoo ceremony around 7 p.m. on June 23, held there each year and dedicated to Marie Laveau.
The listing then names Café du Monde in City Park for a fifteen-minute coffee and beignet break, at your own expense. City Park lists that stand's hours as 7 am to 9 pm Sunday to Thursday and 7 am to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday. Travelers who rode in 2026 put the break at Morning Call instead, and say it takes cash only. Morning Call's own site places it outside the park, at Canal Boulevard and City Park Avenue where the streetcar line ends, open 7 am to midnight every day.
What a Cemetery Stop Looks Like at Night

The listing names one cemetery, St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 on Esplanade Avenue, and gives it about six minutes at the gates. It describes the ground as a burial site built in the 1800s during the yellow fever epidemics, on land that had once been a leper colony. The same listing also says the cemetery you visit is kept a surprise. The cemetery's own page lists gate hours of 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Saturday and 8 am to 4 pm on Sundays and holidays, well before either bus leaves.
Travelers who rode in spring and summer 2026 describe a steady pattern: one cemetery seen from outside its gate, and one entered on foot for about ten minutes, brightly lit inside. Expect one cemetery on foot and the rest from the gate. Several of the same riders also describe a stop at the Hurricane Katrina memorial, and some say the night leaned toward city history more than scares.
Take Children on the 7:00 PM Bus
The operator runs this tour twice a night and splits it by audience. Its own page calls the 7:00 PM bus the family-friendly run and the 9:30 PM bus the adults-only run, and its own booking system offers no child or infant fare on the later bus. This booking page will still sell a child ticket for 9:30 PM. Families should book the 7:00 PM bus.
The listing's age bands run infant from birth to five, child from six to twelve and youth from thirteen to eighteen, and every booking needs an adult on it. Asked whether anyone jumps out at you, the operator's FAQ answers with a flat no.
Water Only on the Bus, Short Walks Off It
Only bottled water rides on the bus. Check-in happens inside a bar, and the operator's receipt says it can turn away anyone too drunk to stay in control. Drinks can be bought at the break.
Riders describe getting on and off the bus several times. The listing calls the tour suitable for all fitness levels, but the operator's own receipt warns of low light and possibly uneven ground at the stops. The operator's tour page and booking system say nothing about wheelchairs, and one rider in May 2026 says staff would not let a wheelchair stay aboard. Anyone who needs one should settle it with the operator before booking.
📍 Check in at the Rampart Treehouse, 740 N Rampart St, near St. Ann Street. The operator asks for 20 to 30 minutes before departure, and the listing accepts a mobile or paper ticket. Tours run rain or shine, with no tours on Mardi Gras Day. Cancel at least 24 hours before departure for a full refund; inside 24 hours there is no refund.
Arrive early enough to order something at the bar and finish it before you board.
