Leave Santa Fe With an Abstract Canvas You Painted Yourself

A private abstract acrylic class in Santa Fe, priced per booking, where each painter takes home a finished canvas.

Paint your own abstract canvas in Santa Fe.

Santa Fe Painting Workshops is run by Andrea Cermanski, an abstract painter who describes her teaching as "I do, you do": she demonstrates a technique, then you try it on your own canvas. The listing promises a step-by-step method aimed at making abstraction approachable, customized to whoever books.

You work in acrylic on one canvas for about two hours. Each painter goes home with a finished piece. The operator's FAQ answers the experience question in two words: not at all.

This is a private class, and the price covers the whole booking. Monday to Wednesday, a booking costs USD 475 for up to five people. Thursday to Saturday, it costs USD 695 for up to eight. A solo painter pays the full booking price.

There are no Sunday classes. The listing sets class hours between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM, and every booking is confirmed by hand.

Abstract, Built One Demonstrated Step at a Time

The listing credits the method to 28 years of painting and says she demonstrates some of her favorite acrylic techniques along the way. Class reviewers name what they practiced: color mixing, layering, texture, perspective and composition.

In the operator's own class photos, most finished canvases read as loose landscapes, a wide sky over a band of earth. Her suggestions are there when you ask for them. One parent who wrote in 2023 after a class with a daughter described making lots of mistakes and feeling free to try anything.

Kids, Grandparents and People Who Have Never Painted

The listing sets no minimum age. Reviews of her classes include a grandparent who brought granddaughters aged 9 and 6 in 2023, a parent with an 11-year-old in 2025, and a 70-year-old who wrote in 2024 about signing up with no art experience at all.

A parent who came with two teenage daughters in 2023 put the difference from a paint-and-sip evening plainly: "the paintings we made were truly our own."

Check Which Address Your Booking Sends You To

The listing still describes a gallery and studio in downtown Santa Fe, one block from Canyon Road, and its meeting pin sits on East Alameda Street. The operator's own pages have moved on. Its contact page still gave the East Alameda address in June 2024 and has changed twice since. A different company's design gallery now lists that East Alameda address as its own.

Its booking calendar for two-hour classes now lists 1235 Siler Road, Unit F, and its contact page gives the same number on Siler Lane. The operator confirms every booking by hand, and the confirmation is where the address gets settled. If yours still shows East Alameda, message the operator before you drive.

Steps, Parking and the Listing's Checkboxes

The listing ticks wheelchair accessible, says infants can ride in a pram or stroller, and calls the class suitable for all physical fitness levels. The operator's own retreat page says the studio is up one flight of steps and asks guests to be able to climb them unassisted. Its booking calendar puts the two-hour classes at that same Siler Road address. Anyone who uses a wheelchair or cannot manage stairs should raise it in the special requirements box when booking.

Neither parking note on offer was written for Siler Road. The listing's instruction to park on the right in the lot matches what the operator's FAQ said in 2023 about its downtown lot. The FAQ's current answer, a driveway along a coyote fence with the right-hand spot held for an Airbnb guest, matches the operator's home studio on Agua Fria Park Road, where its own map page says it runs a casita attached to the house. Ask where to park when the operator confirms your booking.
