Learn What You're Drinking on a North Park Brewery Walk
Three hours on foot between North Park breweries, with a local beer nerd explaining styles, brewing and food pairing.
The pitch is a question most people never ask at the bar: what exactly is in the glass? Over three hours, a guide walks a group of up to fifteen through San Diego's North Park neighborhood, stopping at three or four craft breweries for tasters and talk.
The talk is the product here: beer styles, how brewing works, and which foods make a given beer taste better.
It is pitched at the curious. The listing says the tour is meant for more than beer nerds and that other drinks will be available, and travelers who barely drink beer describe leaving with a few styles they like.

Departures start at 12:00 PM, 4:30 PM or 5:30 PM depending on the day, and the booking calendar shows which days are open. The price covers the guide, the tasters and the pairing snacks. Gratuities are extra, and there is no hotel pickup.
North Park Beerucation TourThree-hour guided brewery walk in North Park, San Diego. Tasters and pairing snacks included. Photo ID required.www.viator.comThe Brewery Lineup Changes

There is no fixed list of breweries. The operator's own tour page says no tour is the same, and the listing adds that tastings are subject to change. Travelers' accounts bear that out: some describe three stops, others four. One counts eight tasters across the afternoon, another four at each of three stops.
Which breweries you visit is not set in advance.
The constant is the neighborhood. The operator's line on North Park is that you can hardly walk a block without passing a brewery, and the tour adds some neighborhood history on the way, from its streetcar days to its current crowd.
Eat Before You Go

Food is part of the lesson. The listing includes snacks and a session on pairing beer with food, and travelers mostly describe cheese boards, with fish tacos and fries turning up in a few accounts from 2022 and early 2023.
Plan on snacks, and eat a proper meal beforehand.
A November 2024 traveler who loved the tour still suggested eating something on the side, and a two-star review from February 2025 says the group was very hungry by the second stop. On diets, the listing promises vegetarian options but makes no promise for vegan, gluten-free or life-threatening allergies. The operator asks you to list food allergies when you book.
Bring Photo ID
The listing sells tickets only to travelers 21 and older, and the operator lists a valid photo ID under what to bring. Its FAQ says ID is required to be served alcohol on all of its tours.
No photo ID means no tasters.
The operator bills its guide as a Cicerone-certified beer expert. Travelers name Stefan far more often than anyone else, and the operator's About page carries a word from founder Stefan Calvaruso. Guides can change. Read that as a pattern from past tours.
Up to Fifteen in a Group
Public departures take up to fifteen guests, per the operator. One person can book. The listing also lets the operator cancel a departure that is short of travelers, and the operator's own booking page frames the tour as four to fifteen people. A pair in 2023 wrote that they were below the minimum and the guide ran the tour anyway.
Booking for one or two? Keep your date flexible.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the start time. Nothing comes back inside that window. Gratuities are not included, and the operator's FAQ puts typical tips at 15 to 20 percent.
📍 The operator's booking system lists the meeting spot as 3049 University Avenue in North Park and labels it North Park Fitness.
Wear comfortable shoes. The operator's FAQ puts the walking at under two miles at a leisurely pace, with some time outside, and its terms say tours go out rain or shine. The listing ticks wheelchair accessible, but neither the operator's site nor its booking page describes step-free entry at the breweries. A wheelchair user should ask the operator before booking.
Save a question for the end. The listing invites you to ask the guide where to eat and drink next in San Diego once the tour wraps up.
