Learn to Pose at 12 South's Murals With a Photographer

An hour through 12 South's murals with a professional photographer who coaches your poses and sends an edited gallery.

Book a mural photo walk through 12 South.

You leave the camera in your pocket for this one. A professional photographer walks your party through 12 South for an hour, stops at the neighborhood's painted walls, shows you how to pose and does the shooting. The operator's own page for this walk promises 25 or more lightly edited images within a week, while the booking page says at least 50.

It is a shared walk. Other parties book the same hour, and the operator says the photographer takes turns with each group at every stop.

The listing pitches it at bachelorette parties, groups and couples, and the operator welcomes solo travelers too. Every person who comes along needs a ticket, children included, even someone who plans to stay out of frame.

Three Named Murals, One Painted Over in 2025

The booking page names three murals: I Believe in Nashville, Nashville Looks Good On You and Looking Pretty, Music City. It also lists a stop at the blue-and-white striped wall on the side of Draper James, and the listing's own photo set comes back to those stripes more than to any other wall.

The yellow Looking Pretty, Music City mural sits at the corner of 12th Avenue South and Dallas Avenue. The original I Believe in Nashville mural on 12th Avenue South was painted over in April 2025, and local TV reported in February 2026 that it had not been repainted. The listing still names it, so plan the hour around the stripes and the yellow wall.

Taking Turns at Each Wall

At each stop the photographer works through the parties one at a time, so part of the hour is spent watching someone else pose. Posing help comes up again and again in traveler reviews, and the listing promises to teach you how to pose. The company is run by two Nashville photographers, Christy Hunter and Gina Palmeri, who merged their separate tour companies in 2022.

The edit is light. The operator says it edits with color correction only and does not offer skin retouching, body reshaping or clothing changes. Photos arrive within a week as a link to an online gallery that you can download from and share with the rest of your group. Prints and albums are the only extras the operator charges for.

Rain, Summer Heat and Running Late

The walk runs rain or shine. If severe weather makes it impossible to operate, the operator says it makes that call on the day itself. Light rain is part of the deal, and several travelers say their shoot went ahead in it.

Summer is the harder case. Reviews posted from June through September keep coming back to the heat, and one traveler suggested booking a morning slot. Bring water.

If you are running late, text the number on your confirmation as soon as you can; the hour still ends at its scheduled time because other guests are on the same walk.

Booking the 11 AM Start

The operator's own page lists a single 11 AM walk. When we checked the booking calendar on October 12, 2026, only that 11:00 AM start had open dates: 49 of the next 90 days, none of them a Wednesday and only one a Sunday.

This listing sells the shared walk only, and the operator's own page asks families bringing small children to book a private session. The walk also needs enough people to run as a group: the listing lets the operator cancel when too few book, and the operator says it reaches out with a rescheduling option when the minimum is not met. One review from January 2024 says low numbers forced a change of location, with more backdrops than murals.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the start. Inside 24 hours there is no refund.

📍 Meet outside Draper James at 2608 12th Ave S. A rideshare can drop you at the door; drivers can use the paid lot across the street or free street parking.

  • Arrive ten minutes early and use a restroom before the start, as the operator asks.
  • Draper James opens at 10 AM Monday through Saturday, so there is time to browse before an 11 AM start.
  • The walk covers about a mile. Wear comfortable shoes, and bring a hat, jacket or sunglasses if you want to change your look between walls.
  • The listing marks the walk as wheelchair and stroller accessible; the operator's Nashville page does not address access.

The hour comes with the photographer's tips on where to shop and eat in 12 South, so leave room for lunch on 12th Avenue afterward.
