Description

Built by the WPA in the 1930s and later renamed for a local firefighter who died on September 11, this neighborhood spot offers more than just standard asphalt. One half of the park is bordered by a sloping forest that invites exploration. While the open spaces are popular for soccer and athletic practice, families should note that the playground's rubber flooring is worn and slippery in places. Some reviews also flag sketchy behavior after dark, but by day it serves as a straightforward spot for a few hours outdoors with kids.
