Description

Bollinger Creek bisects the preserve, separating Rocky Ridge to the west from Las Trampas Ridge to the east. Across the 6,050-acre terrain, an expanded trail network opens remote pockets to hikers and horseback riders seeking quiet away from urban commotion. The surrounding landscape is shaped by two major Bay Area faults, whose uplift has exposed four distinct geological formations, including Pinole Tuff and the Orinda and El Sobrante layers.
