Once a royal retreat, this oceanfront estate preserves Hawaiian culture and hula across serene coastal lawns.
Description

Set between the Ewa and Wai‘anae moku, the grounds trace back to Chief Kākuhihewa, the 15th ruling chief of ancient O‘ahu, before Alice Kamokilaikawai Campbell made the beachfront property her home in 1939 and named it Lanikūhonua—“Where Heaven Meets the Earth.” Today, the non-profit foundation channels that history into the present by sponsoring Hawaiian studies classes and cultural programs. Its coastal setting also serves as an outdoor venue for weddings and private gatherings, where grassy lawns sit right against a secluded beach and sunset horizons.
