Landmark's Piedmont Theatre
4.5 (461)cinema
Oakland’s oldest cinema pairs 1917 character and leather seating with a sharp slate of independent and art-house films.
Description

Landmark has operated the venue since 1994, equipping its three screens with DLP digital projection and sound. Screenings reach back through silent reels and 1970s runs of Jaws and Star Wars to a lineup that also makes room for Hollywood fare. A 2010 renovation revived the building's vintage grandeur alongside updated lobby and concession spaces, keeping a classic neighborhood moviegoing atmosphere intact.
