Lake Chabot Regional Park
4.7 (4,267)park
Shoreline paths, rugged ridge hikes, and boat rentals encircle this 315-acre East Bay reservoir park.
Description

Built in 1874–75 as a primary water source for the East Bay, the reservoir remained closed to recreation for 91 years before opening to the public in 1966. While it still serves as a standby emergency water supply, the surrounding parkland supports year-round fishing and over 20 miles of hiking trails, including the 3.52-mile paved West Shore and East Shore paths and routes across Fairmont Ridge.
