La Mediterranee
4.3 (814)restaurant
A beloved Berkeley mainstay serving scratch-made Mediterranean meza, kebabs, and flaky fillo pastries on a heated patio.
Description

Levon Der Bedrossian opened the restaurant in 1982 alongside his cousin Garbis Baghdassarian, drawing on Armenian and Lebanese family recipes. The kitchen turns out scratch-made staples daily, including award-winning hummos, baba ghanoush, and crispy chicken cilicia fillos alongside tender meats. Decades later, the space keeps a relaxed, charming atmosphere defined by friendly service and modest pricing.
