Description

Stretching for roughly a mile through La Jolla, the sandy beach serves as a frequent site for novice scuba classes, helped along in summer by waves that are typically the gentlest in San Diego. With the shoreline bordering the San Diego La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve, fishing and the removal of marine life or objects are strictly prohibited. It is also one of just nine city beaches safeguarded by permanent lifeguard stations.
