Description

La Casita took shape as a public works project to provide employment during the Great Depression, combining land supplied by the City of Pasadena with funding from the Pasadena Garden Club. Architect Myron Hunt, himself a club member, drew directly on the landscape by incorporating materials salvaged from the Arroyo. The property is designated a Pasadena Cultural Heritage Landmark, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and holds a 2015 municipal Historic Preservation Rehabilitation Award.
