Description

Founded in 1971 in a historic building on Merchant Street, the space is remarkably compact, with room for barely three rows of seating and spare sets that can strip the stage down to little more than a doorway. That closeness puts all the focus on the actors and the scripts, which feature local plays in Pidgin alongside humorous and heartfelt stories rooted in island culture. It delivers an immediate, grounded theatrical experience, set right amidst Chinatown's neighboring restaurants and bars.
