Kosher Smoked Brisket and Burnt Ends in Crown Heights
Korean chicken, pulled beef, and sampler platters come out of a strictly kosher smokehouse from pit-master Izzy Eidelman.
🔥 A Kosher Pit in Crown Heights
Izzy Eidelman runs his pit on Troy Ave, turning out strictly kosher Southern barbecue in a corner of Crown Heights. The brisket wears a dark, peppery bark, the burnt ends stay glossy, and pulled beef piles high next to Korean chicken, burgers, and traditional cholent. Order a sampler platter and the table fills fast, and everything lands mild, there is no hot sauce on the tables and nothing on the menu is built to burn. Seating stays tight, a very small main room up front and a second dining area a door down, and busy nights mean a short wait. The kitchen keeps kosher hours, open Sunday through Thursday and dark for Shabbat, with Thursday running latest. Bring people who take their brisket seriously, and let the platters carry the night.
