Description

Opened in 1990 by its namesake, soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, the auditorium began life in an unexpected key, hosting the Commonwealth Games boxing tournament. A major redevelopment later transformed the space, which now features convenient facilities on every floor. Today, the tiered seating layout ensures excellent stage sightlines. Be aware of a few structural quirks: the underground parking can be tight and difficult to exit, and the very top rows tend to trap rising heat due to limited ventilation.
