Description

Developed under a concept plan by the Neighborhood Design Center, Kilmer Park brings together active recreation and instructive exhibits on native plants and habitats. Beyond open space for free play, the grounds feature a magnolia grove and native trees and shrubs cataloged with numbered identification tags. Environmental infrastructure is integrated directly into the landscape through a pollinator meadow combined with stormwater management. Purchased by Cheverly in 2015 and annexed in 2017, the park gives functional civic land an educational focus.
