Plan your family evening.

🎃 One Park for Halloween

🚪 Real Doors to Knock On

The festival opens at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, and the last entry is 7:30 PM. Children work a candy trail of real doors to knock on, with storybook characters and mascots along the route; the organizer targets ages two to eight. Presale admission is 13 dollars through October 30 and 15 dollars on the event day, and the Eventbrite checkout shows both with the service and payment fees already inside, so nothing is added at payment. Everyone three and up needs a ticket, under-threes enter free, and guests under 18 are asked to arrive with a parent or legal guardian.

🎭 A Show Every Half Hour

One ticket carries the whole night: puppet and magic shows every half hour, DJ Q the Jedi's dance party, face painting, balloon twisting, crafts, carnival games, a keepsake trick-or-treat bag and a dinner of a hot dog, chips, a cookie and water. Ask at the front of the food line for a vegan hot dog; the organizer takes those requests. Extra snacks, sodas and hot drinks are sold separately. Refunds are open up to one day before the event.

🎒 Costumes, Rules and Getting There

Costumes must stay age-appropriate: skip fake blood, gory or frightening outfits, fake weapons and scary masks, and leave sharp or pointed props at home. Guests judged too scary may be asked to remove a mask or prop, or be denied entry. The address is 919 South Grand Avenue at ASU California Center Grand. Take the A or E Line to Pico, a few blocks away, or the A, B, D or E Line to 7th Street/Metro Center, about seven minutes on foot by the organizer's estimate. Parking on 9th Street between Hope and Grand costs 10 dollars, card only, space permitting. The Broad and Grand Park are separate outings rather than stops on festival night: The Broad closes at 6 PM on Saturdays, an hour after the festival starts.
