Key West Ghost Hunt Where You Hold the Dowsing Rods
A 90-minute walk through Old Town Key West after dark, with the operator's dowsing rods and EMF meters to try.
This is a 9:00 PM walking ghost hunt through Old Town Key West, and the equipment is the hook. The listing includes the use of dowsing rods, EMF meters and a spirit board, and reviewers keep singling out the rods and the meters. The "Original" in the name is the operator's own claim: its site says David Sloan started the tour in 1996. It runs about 90 minutes and ends at the corner of Eaton and Simonton Streets.

The listing title says ages 16 and up, but its only ticket is an Adult ticket for ages 17 and over. Online booking closes two hours before the start, and cancelling at least 24 hours ahead returns the full price.

Check-in is on the large front porch of First Flight Island Restaurant & Brewery at 301 Whitehead Street, on the corner of Caroline Street. The operator asks guests to arrive 15 minutes before the start. It also says it cannot hold the start for latecomers; it will try to move them to a later hunt, and if it cannot, the usual cancellation terms apply. A historical marker at the corner calls this building the first office of Pan American World Airways, the restaurant says Pan Am sold its first tickets here in 1927, and the first ten minutes of the hunt are about who haunts it. Food and drinks are not included. The restaurant serves dinner until 10:00 PM, and its bar area is 21 and over. The operator asks guests not to arrive intoxicated and may turn away anyone who does.
Two Buildings With Access, and Old Town in Between

The listing promises exclusive access to two locations, and its itinerary starts at First Flight and finishes inside The Studios of Key West. In between, the guide walks the group through Old Town and points out haunted houses along the way. A July 2026 reviewer noted that those houses are seen from the street. Reviewers have come home with night photos of houses such as the Curry Mansion on Caroline Street. The last stop is about 20 minutes inside The Studios of Key West. The arts center describes its home as a former Masonic Temple by Henry Hohauser, the architect behind South Beach's Art Deco district, and the operator's booking page says the group goes in after hours. The listing says that is where the equipment comes out to check whether any Masons are still around. The operator notes that it is occasionally unable to get into some stops because of events outside its control.
Seventeen Is the Age to Plan Around
The listing's title and description say 16 and up, and that children are not admitted. Its only ticket type, though, is Adult, ages 17 to 120, and the operator's own booking page labels this hunt 17+ and adults only, with a disclaimer that the tour is for guests 17 and older. Bring nobody under 17 on this booking. One booking takes up to 16 travelers and the listing caps a shared hunt at 16, while the operator's booking page lists a 12-guest maximum. A solo traveler can book. If too few people sign up, the listing allows the hunt to be called off, with another date or a full refund offered. The listing asks for at least a moderate level of fitness and says the hunt is not recommended for travelers with poor heart health. On access, the listing marks the hunt as wheelchair accessible, and the operator's booking page says the locations are wheelchair accessible but Key West sidewalks can be uneven at times. The same listing block also marks the hunt as fine for strollers, on a hunt that admits no children.
What the Calendar Showed, and What Rain Does
The operator says the hunt goes out rain or shine and notes that Key West gets rain all year. If poor weather does cancel it, the listing offers another date or a full refund. A reviewer in August 2025 described a thunderstorm rolling in minutes after the start. As of October 22, 2026, the booking calendar showed 9:00 PM hunts from October 26 through November 30, with no Tuesday departures. Halloween night, Saturday, October 31, was open. No dates were loaded past November 30 yet.
📍 Check in on First Flight's front porch at 301 Whitehead Street by 8:45 PM. The hunt ends about 90 minutes later at Eaton and Simonton, which The Studios of Key West describes as a block off Duval Street, with the rest of the night still ahead.
