Kew Gardens Italian Classics with a Sweet House Sauce
Pizza from meticulously monitored ovens at a Queens spot the Dani family opened in 1959.
🍅 House Sauce
Ramiz Dani opened this Kew Gardens pizzeria in 1959, and his son Sabri runs it today. The reason people keep coming back has not changed in decades, a signature sweet sauce that made the place famous across the neighborhood.
Pizzas come out of meticulously monitored ovens, and the kitchen backs them with Italian classics for anyone after a fuller plate. Start with a pie to taste that sweet sauce on its own before the rest of the table branches out.
Seating spreads across a homey, bi level space on Lefferts Boulevard in Queens, and prices stay inexpensive. The mood is casual and classic, and the room holds its place as a family run local favorite.
Dani's is open daily from 2 PM to 11 PM, which puts a late pie within reach every night of the week, weekends included, for a quick bite or a slower family dinner.
