Kerry Park and Queen Anne Coffee Co., Half a Mile Apart
Kerry Park is a small lawn on the south slope of Queen Anne where a low wall frames the Space Needle and downtown. The cafe that supplies the coffee sits 10 to 15 minutes uphill and shuts at 5 p.m., which leaves the afternoon answering to two clocks, the shop and the sunset.
Queen Anne Coffee Co. to Kerry Park
☕ Coffee and pastry, before 5
Queen Anne Coffee Co. holds the corner at 1811 Queen Anne Ave N, with espresso drinks at the counter, a pastry case that changes with whatever was baked that morning, and a few tables outside. It opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m., which makes this the stop with a clock attached. Order the coffee and a pastry first, then walk. A December 2025 Infatuation review calls the breakfast sandwich merely fine and points to the cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies when they are in the case. The case rotates daily, and the counter will tell you what came out of the oven that morning.

🌇 Down to the wall as the lights come up
Kerry Park is a small lawn at 211 W Highland Dr, open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the view happens along the low wall on its south edge. The Space Needle, the downtown towers and Elliott Bay sit in one frame, and Mount Rainier shows up behind them only on the clearest days, with a hazy afternoon still delivering the needle and the skyline. Aim for the wall 30 to 40 minutes before sunset, while the sky still holds color and the towers begin to switch on. A play area and a basketball court sit behind you, and the park stays open until 10.

🚶 Ten to fifteen minutes, some slope
Google Maps measures the stops about half a mile apart, 10 to 15 minutes on foot at an easy pace. Queen Anne is a hill, and the route is not level. The blocks south on Queen Anne Ave N rise a little past Galer St, then the last stretch down to the wall falls away. The cafe shuts at 5 p.m. daily, Seattle sunset runs from about 4:20 p.m. in December to past 9 p.m. in June, and the afternoon has to be built around the sunset rather than the cafe clock. Buy the coffee and pastry first, walk over, and reach the wall 30 to 40 minutes before the sun drops. In midsummer the two sit hours apart.
