Kensington Cabin Park
4.6 (22)park
Sunrise to Sunset; Lighted Courts & Activity Building close at 11 pm
A quiet neighborhood park pairing open recreation space and a playground with a historic New Deal-era cabin.
Description

The park traces back to 1924, when the Woman's Club of Kensington began an effort to turn town-owned lots into a park. Local officials formalized an agreement with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in May 1930, followed by development supported by the Civil Works Administration during the Great Depression. Today managed by Montgomery Parks, the grounds preserve the log cabin built from that early suburban civic push.
