A greenway overlook at Brookmeade Park where Confederate artillery once clashed with Union gunboats on the Cumberland.
Description

On December 2, 1864, the Confederate Army of Tennessee initiated its siege of Nashville by placing cavalry batteries along the Cumberland River to cut off Union transportation. Commanded by Col. David C. Kelley, the forces maintained a two-week river blockade, engaging heavily armed Navy gunboats across multiple skirmishes. Following historical research in 2004, the site was dedicated as a Metro Nashville greenway park, where interpretive signage now details the clashes along the water.
