Kapiolani Coffee Shop-Waimalu
4.2 (386)restaurant
$5.95 – $36.00
A longtime Aiea diner serving classic local comfort food, celebrated for its signature oxtail soup with grated ginger.
Description

World War II veteran Wataru Teruya first opened the coffee shop on Kapiolani Boulevard in the late 1940s or early 1950s. The business later moved through earlier stops like Kam Bowl before settling into Aiea's Waimalu Shopping Center. Now owned by Lucena Kashiwabara, the restaurant preserves that local lineage through a menu of classic Hawaiian diner favorites, serving its celebrated oxtail soup topped with Chinese parsley and green onion.
