Founded over 40 years ago by Kansas City natives Martin and Cindy Blair, the downtown landmark earned its fame as the filming site where Maverick and Goose sang 'Great Balls of Fire' in the 1986 film Top Gun. Dubbed the 'Top Gun Bar,' it played an early role in revitalizing San Diego's harbor district near the Convention Center. Alongside the movie history, the casual spot continues to draw film fans and locals alike for signature smoked meats, cold drinks, and friendly staff.
