Kaneohe Sandbar
4.8 (418)attraction
A shallow sandbar in the middle of the bay where visitors can wade knee-deep far offshore, framed by the Ko'olau Range.
Description

Known also as Ahu O Laka, the formation stretches for about a mile at low tide across Kaneohe Bay. The wide stretch of shallow water draws people out for boating, paddleboarding, and snorkeling far from shore. Because it sits well out in the bay, visiting requires getting onto the water—primarily via boat, kayak, or guided tour launching from nearby Heeia Kea Boat Harbor.
