Description

Founded in 1974, Kala expands beyond traditional print into digital media, photography, and public art projects. Activity spans two West Berkeley sites: the Heinz Print Studio and the Kala Gallery & Community Classroom on San Pablo Avenue. A first-floor gallery lets visitors browse and purchase works from dozens of artists, while upper-level facilities support artist residencies alongside youth and adult education classes.
