Description

The route runs as a one-mile hike along a paved roadway up to a headland lookout set above the historic Makapuʻu lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is off-limits, but it remains visible from the trail alongside views of the southeastern Oʻahu coastline. Down near the water, the shoreline tide pools sit in a closed area due to unpredictable wave surges.
