Kaiser Park's Quiet Bay Shore, Then a Pizzeria Founded in 1924
Kaiser Park on Gravesend Bay, not the creek park or the ocean boardwalk: a quiet morning, then a 1924 pizzeria open weekends.
📍 Along Neptune Avenue
🌊 11 AM on Gravesend Bay
D, F, N, and Q trains end at Coney Island–Stillwell Av. From there Neptune Avenue runs one kilometer west to the park edge at West 24th Street, 14 minutes on foot. The B74 runs one block south on Mermaid Avenue and takes five minutes to West 25th Street; the gate is seven minutes north. A track, ballfields, and a fishing pier fill 26 acres on Gravesend Bay. Coney Island Creek Park, the nature area west on Bayview Avenue, is a different place with no facilities. The sand is not a designated beach, so stay on the paved paths and leave swimming to lifeguarded beaches.

🍕 Noon Pickup on Neptune
Turn east on Neptune Avenue to 1524, at West 16th Street. That is 1.3 kilometers and about 17 minutes from the pier, or 600 meters and eight minutes from the park edge at West 24th Street. Totonno's opens at noon on Saturday and Sunday, closes at 5:30 PM, and serves no other days. Orders are takeout and delivery only, and there is no indoor seating. The family has baked here since 1924. Both 14-inch pies, traditional and white, are $25 on the restaurant's online menu. Call 718 372 8606 before setting out.

🧭 Lunch at the Boardwalk
Carry the pie 700 meters south on West 16th Street, about ten minutes, to the Riegelmann Boardwalk. This is the Atlantic Ocean promenade, separate from both parks, with benches facing the sand. Kaiser Park, where the morning began, charges no entry fee, so the pizza is the only purchase. Keep the meal outdoors or to go and carry packaging to a bin. Coney Island–Stillwell Av is 700 meters east, ten minutes on foot, on the D, F, N, and Q.
