Description

Set in the southern Koʻolau Mountains, the route incorporates an abandoned water pipeline before opening onto summit views across the Honolulu skyline and Oʻahu’s east side. It is arguably the most challenging day hike in the southern Koʻolaus, with a difficulty frequently underestimated by first-time hikers. The terrain includes near-vertical climbing sections at the first two waterfalls, slippery drop-offs, and persistent mud and flash flood hazards along Waiʻōmaʻo Stream.
