Description

Acquired in 1972 from the Waveland Avenue Congregational Church, the pocket park addressed a neighborhood shortage of open space in Lakeview. Alongside its climbing setup and water play, the layout includes sensory paths. There is no structured programming on-site, with organized recreation handled nearby at Sheil Park. Its name stems from a 1970s Chicago Park District initiative designating properties after trees and plants.
