Description

Located on North Eastlake Terrace in Rogers Park, this 1.02-acre space pairs a sandy shoreline with a community garden. Its public roots date to 1915 when the North Shore Park District first acquired the land, eventually becoming one of 18 street-end beaches transferred to the Chicago Park District in 1959 under city park consolidation. While visitors note that the footprint is on the smaller side, the grounds offer a modest, open green perch directly on the water.
