Once a 1960s gas station, this pioneering green hub now hosts neighborhood gatherings and an educational garden.
Description

Owned and operated by the Portland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the facility was purchased in 1992 under the vision of late educator June Roe Runnells Key. The renovation converted standard concrete, metal, and asphalt into a demonstration of sustainable building practices run by a small nonprofit. Today, the grounds include an educational garden focused on urban agriculture, healthy eating, and sustainable living, anchoring community gatherings alongside multicultural social, educational, and artistic programs.
