Description
Standing 1,002 feet tall, this modernist commercial office tower remains a defining feature of the Downtown Houston skyline. Completed in 1982 by I. M. Pei & Partners and Ziegler Cooper Architects, the structure serves as a hub within the city's infrastructure, maintaining a direct connection to the Houston Downtown Tunnel System. The site is anchored by an outdoor plaza, where the vivid colors and abstract forms of Joan Miró's monumental sculpture Personage and Birds provide a sharp, artistic contrast to the building's geometric glass and steel design.
