Description

Set across a 4-acre landscaped park on the Riley/Hewitt property, the site preserves a historic house with an attached log kitchen dating to 1850 alongside modern exhibition spaces. The museum traces Henson's life and escape to Canada through interactive exhibits and historical artifacts, framing his story within the broader history of slavery and abolition across Montgomery County. A visitor center provides an orientation film to ground the historic structures and surrounding grounds.
