Joe Jost's
4.8 (1,491)bar
A century-old Long Beach tavern pouring frosty schooners alongside pickled eggs and its signature Joe's Special.
Description

Joe Jost opened on Anaheim Street in 1924 as a barbershop with billiards and poker in the back. When Prohibition ended, he secured a beer license—only for the barbering commission to rule that cutting hair and pouring beer could not happen in the same place. A century later, the barber pole is still out front, and the tavern continues to operate on a cash-only basis.
